Suzuki Flute Fall Semester 2024

A fun, fluting time with friends! Runs May-August 2024


Service Description

Group class are offered the following times for Fall 2024 from September-December: Weekly In-Person Wednesdays 5:30-6:15 p.m. EST (All skill levels) Biweekly Online Thursdays via Zoom 4:30-5:15 p.m. EST Join us in the Suzuki Flute program! After registering for a free trial lesson here: https://www.halliesstudio.com/bookings-checkout/trial-private-flute-lesson, students will be given the option to pursue musical study with the Suzuki flute program at Hallie's Studio which includes a group classes and private lessons, as well as access to recitals, performance and volunteering opportunities, masterclasses, music appreciation club, and other classes available at Hallie's Studio, as well as join the amazing worldwide Suzuki musician community. Suitable for children ages 3-18, this flute program will have your young musicians playing beautiful music with grace and elegance, all while having lots of fun! Younger students will have a Nuvo flute provided to them for the program, and older student have the option of renting a flute with a straight or curved head flute for as little as $25/month. Families are asked to purchase their own sheet music and stand. The Suzuki method is a study-proven method for music education which trains children to play music beautifully with beautiful hearts. Parents also get some training in ways to promote daily practice habits, how to encourage learning alongside fun, and fostering a growth mindset in students. Some key components of the Suzuki method include daily listening, daily practice, parental involvement, early start to music education, playing by ear (in the beginning), group learning with peers, reviews and revisions, and breaking down complex skills into easy to learn segments. We will work on a new musical topic and pieces each week, and even beginners tooting on headjoints are welcome to play along in group class for some fun and interesting harmonies! More experienced students will enjoy advanced intonation, artistry skills, and even chamber music composition! During group classes we will be learning the following: Ensemble playing Intonation Basic music theory Note reading Repertoire familiarity Rhythm games and more fun for all ages! Children love the group classes and will look forward to seeing their friends with a common musical interest each week. Hope to see you there!

Cancellation Policy

Class is subject to cancellation if minimum attendance of 2 students is not met. In the event that a regularly scheduled class has only one student in attendance, the class will be a shorter, 20-minute private session.
